Forest Park goes to Springfield
Our team from the Village of Forest Park worked very hard to serve our residents in Springfield yesterday! In addition to meeting with Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch (photos TBD) and our colleagues from across Proviso Township, we met with legislators representing our village in the Illinois legislature. We had excellent meetings with Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford and State Representative LaShawn Ford. We rounded out our day with a brief conversation with Representative Camille Lilly of the 78th house district, which includes part of Forest Park. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of legislators, including Senator Don Harmon, who care about our community and our needs! It was a very busy time in Springfield, and those folks we didn’t see this time we will make sure to visit three weeks from now when we return in early May to follow up on our requests. I appreciated the support of Mayor Hoskins and Commissioner Voogd showing me the ropes as we went through the Capitol together— this was my first trip!
We went to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library at the end of a very long day, good to take a selfie with Abe in the land of Lincoln.
